Beyond the vehicle price, typical costs include shipping, applicable import duty and VAT, inspection and registration. Duty and customs treatment depend on vehicle category, origin and import procedure. Preferential treatment for eligible Japanese-origin vehicles requires the applicable origin conditions and evidence; buying a vehicle in Japan does not itself establish Japanese origin. The standard Cyprus third-country import VAT rate is currently 19%, subject to the applicable treatment. Inspection and registration requirements and costs are vehicle-specific. We provide an itemised estimate for your vehicle before purchase.

No. We source vehicles from a wide range of manufacturers — European, American, Korean and Japanese. Our advantage comes from access to the Japanese market, where many vehicles are exceptionally well maintained and available in excellent condition.

Many vehicles on the Japanese market are right-hand drive, suitable for left-side traffic in Cyprus. Steering position alone does not establish registration eligibility: required inspections, approvals and any technical modifications must be checked for the specific vehicle before purchase.

Shipping from Japan typically takes 4–6 weeks. Allow approximately 3 months from vehicle purchase to registration in Cyprus, including shipping, customs clearance and registration. Sourcing happens before purchase and can take additional time. These are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates.

Vehicle sourcing and quotation enquiries are usually answered within a few hours and normally within one business day. Detailed searches or vehicle checks may take longer; this is an expectation, not a guarantee.

No. Phone, email and name are optional in the initial enquiry form. You can use your preferred contact method without entering a phone number on the website. Messaging and email providers may still require their own account details. We normally reply through the channel you use; add an alternative contact only if you want us to use it.

A security deposit of approximately 15–20% is normally required before an approved vehicle bid is placed or a vehicle is secured. The amount and purchase arrangements will be discussed with you before proceeding.

Yes. If the vehicle has not been purchased and you decide not to continue with that vehicle or another vehicle, the security deposit is fully refundable.

Once you have approved a vehicle and the purchase has been completed, cancellation may still be possible in some cases, but it depends on the auction house, seller, exporter or other Japanese partner involved. Third-party charges or penalties are not fixed and may vary with the auction or seller, location, vehicle value, transaction and stage of purchase or cancellation. Where cancellation is possible, documented third-party cancellation costs may be deducted from the security deposit. AJ AUTO GROUP will explain the available options and any known costs before submitting a cancellation request. Cancellation after purchase cannot be guaranteed.

Warranty arrangements depend on the specific vehicle, including its age, condition and agreed purchase terms. Any commercial warranty offered will be discussed and confirmed with you before purchase. There is no single warranty period or identical coverage for every vehicle; mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.
