Pre-Purchase Car Inspection & History Checks in Cyprus

Already found a car through a dealer, marketplace, social media or a private seller? AJ AUTO GROUP provides physical pre-purchase inspections in Cyprus and reviews available vehicle information. You do not need to be sourcing or importing through us. We combine vehicle-sourcing experience, mechanical knowledge and verification, while making clear what can—and cannot—be established.

What can AJ check?

The checks are agreed for your vehicle and concerns—not a single fixed package. Depending on the requested scope, we may review:

  • Visible accident or previous-damage indicators, signs of repairs and poor previous repair work.
  • Mileage inconsistencies or possible odometer rollback where the evidence permits.
  • Vehicle specifications, the seller’s listing, photos and supporting documents.
  • Mechanical and condition-related red flags within the agreed physical inspection scope.
  • Chassis/VIN-related information and Japanese auction records where legitimate sources are available.

How does the physical inspection work?

AJ performs physical pre-purchase inspections in Cyprus. Depth depends on the vehicle, your requirements, location, access, requested checks and circumstances. Tell us where the car is and what concerns you; we confirm the feasible scope before proceeding. Do not assume every appointment includes the same mechanical checks or equipment.

What can history and document checks establish?

We review available information for consistency with the vehicle, its specification and the seller’s description. Reliable documents or accessible records may help highlight damage or mileage concerns. Previous ownership and service history are not always available: we only review these where reliable documentation or accessible records exist.

Can you check Japanese auction information?

For a Japanese-market vehicle, we may review an auction sheet or auction-history information where legitimately available, and compare it with the supplied details. Chassis/VIN-related checks depend on accessible sources. Not every vehicle has a retrievable auction record; we do not promise access to every database or a complete record of its time in Japan.

What should I send?

Start with the make, model, year if known, seller’s listing or photos, vehicle location, your concerns, requested checks and preferred timing. Tell us which documents are available. Share a chassis/VIN or further vehicle records privately with AJ when needed—not in a public page link. Do not include identity documents or payment details in an initial enquiry.

What might remain unknown?

Missing records are not proof of a clean history. We cannot always identify previous owners, establish complete service history, verify every mileage entry or detect every past repair or hidden fault. Findings are limited to the agreed checks, access and evidence available; they are not a guarantee that a vehicle is accident-free or fault-free.

How are inspection depth and price agreed?

There is no universal fixed inspection price. Inspection and verification costs depend on the vehicle and the scope of checks required. AJ confirms the scope and quotation before proceeding. Discuss any particular mechanical concerns or additional record checks at that stage.

How soon can it be arranged?

Timing depends on the vehicle, location, inspection scope and availability. When schedules and access allow, some checks can be arranged within hours or the same day; others are booked by appointment. We confirm timing before proceeding. This is not a guaranteed turnaround.

What happens after the inspection?

AJ can provide explained and documented findings to help you evaluate the vehicle before buying. Depending on your requirements and the agreed scope, these may include a verbal explanation, photographs of checked areas and identified problems, notes and documented observations, copies of available vehicle data and supporting information where sharing is permitted, and a written inspection report when requested and agreed. We confirm the format, scope and quotation with you before proceeding. Not every inspection includes an identical written report, certificate or documentation package. Discuss the findings and any remaining uncertainty before deciding whether to buy, ask the seller further questions or walk away.
